Aurifil is absolutely our favorite thread for piecing and general sewing, and is wonderful for quilting and hand sewing as well. It is a long-staple cotton from Italy that just nestles itself into the fabric like no other thread, and produces very little lint. This 12-pack is the best deal going, as the individual spools sell for $10 apiece. Each spool holds 1400 yards of thread, which lasts through many quilts. Berninas love this thread.
