big time!

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Hi all.  First off, let me apologize for not posting the pictures of the quilts from the Kaffe reunion. I’ve been having some technical difficulties with the photo program.  But I will get it sorted out and get those posted as soon as possible.  In the meantime, if you’re looking for a Kaffe fix, be sure to check out his new book, Country Garden Quilts.  It’s a beauty!  The book even shows a quilt from one of my all time favorite bloggers, Jane Brocket of yarnstorm.  She makes great, vibrant quilts and has an amazing eye for color.  Jane is working on a quilt book of her own, so stay tuned for what is sure to be a lovely and inspiring read.

And speaking of inspiring reads. . .

Check out the new Stitch!

We just got our first issues of this new magazine, put out by Quilting Arts.  And the most exciting news of all – Thimble Pleasures has its first national ad in the magazine!  With our website up and running and Karen working so diligently on getting as much fabric, notions, books, etc. online to purchase, we figured it was time to get our name out there.  It’s a great issue, featuring lots of great online resources, sewing projects, and even a full size pattern for a great skirt.  Be sure to come by soon and pick up your copy before they’re all gone.  And let us know what you think of our ad!

Hours are Friday and Saturday 10-6, and Sunday 10-5. Admission is $5 and children under 12 are free.  Have fun, and then if you are inspired come see us in the store and gather supplies for your next project! We are participating in Bernina’s fund-raising drive for the American Heart Association.  Your tax-deductible donation will be sent from our store directly to the AHA, so please help in any way you can. Even small donations are much appreciated! The easiest way to make a donation is while you are in the store.  A receipt will be given to you at the register. Thank you for your help!
